[font=Andalus:4027953984]   Dear Sisters,

Peace be upon you all.

I tried to post this reply on the article http://sisters.islamway.com/modules.php?na...order=0&thold=0

Quote

Peace upon you all, sisters.

I canīt get you saying that contact between muslim and muslimahs should be avoided. Even Aixah (Peace upon Her) teached men in her time, and Fatimah, the precious daughter of Muhammad (pbuH) also did.

I think that Shaytan is always around, but Godīs Mercy is too. In order to increase my knowlowedge,  Iīve been talking recently with muslim girls and boys, spanish muslims, meeting together to study Islam and to teach people like me, and I couldnīt find anything lusty in their behaviour.

Besides I do agree in the pictures matter... they never are the REAL pictures of the people! _just kidding.

Allah knows best.

My love and compassion,
ara

I hope youīll illustrate me here.

Shukr Allaho sayikum (or something like that)   [/font:4027953984]

dear Ara

Aisha radiallahu anha used to teach from behind a curtain/screen. she conveyed the knowledge/hadith, she did not chat.

I am not sure exactly which article you are talking about, but I just wanted to clarify that point

a classic example that men and women DID NOT MIX after the verse of the hijab was revealed, is the aathar of Aisha's slander, Radiyallahu anha.
I am quoting from memory , Inshallah, some sisters will have time to get the all story for me :'' when Aisha got left behind because she was searching for something, and the army departed and the people who were carrying her thought she was in her ''Howdah'' (the carriage on top of the camel, all enclosed) because she was light in weight, a young man came after and he recognised her  from before the veiled was imposed on women  . He stopped his horse or camel , he did not look at her and walked in front of her the whole time.
Still, this did not prevent the hypocrites to slander the Mother of the Believers, Radiyallahu anha.

We should not take our own example or personnal circmustances to re-write/explain/understand or misunderstand  Islam. We should not do that. If Allah has decreed something,  then be it.  It is not because there is no misbehaving in your class that the prohibition between mixing men and women should be lifted.
As a matter of fact, at the time of the Prophet, Sallalahu aleihi wa salam, women and men were praying in the same room, but men in front and women at the back, for obvious reasons.

Could not find the article you are refering either. Is it on the forum or one of the articles  on the homepage?

Peace upon all of you and thanks for your advices...

But...

Hey! Remember! Iīm TALIBA, the apprentice, so be merciful and patient with me

As far as Iīve understood, Aixa (Pbuher) didnīt mixed with men just for fun, but she teached them, and always keeping her modesty (sorry, I canīt speak arabic by now). Thatīs the point, isnīt it?

Regarding to my personal point of view... Sorry, sisters, but Iīm not so versed on the Quran and the Sunnah nor the Shariah either to used them. I canīt express my doubts just for my so-new experience with Islam and Muslims. And, by the way, I DO NEED to know if the spanish muslims Iīm finding are doing well in order to receive the best teachings.

This group donīt chat to one another. I must say this is not a "social club" or a "muslim dating service", not at all. They are serious in their studies, and respectful with non muslims. But itīs the first communty I find in Spain... and thatīs the way they study.

I only met with an English Sunni Tariqa in which the Salaat and the teachings from the Sheikh were given to women & men together... separated, but separated in the paralel sides of the room.

I never wished to make you confused. If I did, I wouldnīt be here asking and asking, sisters.

Thanks again for everything.

It is ok, you did not confuse us at all. We are all here to learn and benefit from each other...

You wanted to be illustrated, I think sisters answered you the best of their abilities.

The point is, as sister Mariam explained to you, Aisha, radiyallahu anha, used to speak to men to teach them from behind a curtain. I think that in itself does not need more explanation.
If she freely mixed with the other gender, then she would not have the need of a curtain.
In many mosques, men and women study together but not side by side. they may be in the same room but they do not mix.
As for the internet, it is obvious why men and women should not mix. YOu can be whoever you wanna be but it does not mean you are who you say you are.
it is why the Major Scholar recommend that people log in with  their names, as if they log in with their names, they'll be known and they will be more careful about how they act on the net.
But if you are anonymous, then , really... many people throw  their shame and principles through the window.

Inshallah, this has helped.

Thanks, Khadi. Yes, youīre right. Sadly dishonesty seems to be the Universal Tradition of Humankind

Still, and always your sister
