Assalamalikum sisters,
just wondered if you could help me..... someone has asked me if it is permissable to say her shahada when she is on her period. I actually never thought about it before, but I suppose u are supposed to make ghusl after ur reversion but if you are already unpure then what difference does it make???
Please help.

Assalamu Alaikum
Hmmm, interesting  When I wanted to say my shahada I was menstruating so the sister who was teaching me told me I should wait until the next week! Unfortunately I did not ask why :? nor do I have any proof (I was VERY shy of questioning any other Muslims word at that time  )
Maybe you should also ask in the Islamic Rulings forum  I will be interested to know the answer, InshaAllah!!

Very good question to ask! It's something that has been on my mind the last few weeks as well. Looking forward to the answer.

Just my thoughts.
What if you dont get a tomorrow...or next "week" doesnt come????? Wouldnt it be better to say it when you know its true...and if you get tomorrow or the next week (without period) Say it AGAIN???
How would you feel if you told a sister to delay...and she never got another chance?
I have no evidence...just my thoughts.

Assalaam alaikum wa rahmatu Allah,
I don't think there is any evidence from the sunnah of a woman delaying her conversion because of menstruation. We can say the shahadah when we have our menses as well as any other type of thikr, so it should not be a barrier. As sister Penney said, what if there is no tomorrow?

Shukran sisters,
I will pass on the information and look froward to hearing anything about the ghusl part.
Shukran again
