Asalaamu Alaykum
I would like to know what the ruling is on Questioning "why something is Haram"? are we allowed, I mean not to argue why it is, but to have a better understanding or do we just accept it because it is from Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala. ?

asalamu alaikum,
It is okay to understand why things are haram and where it says it is haram but it is not okay to Question why Allah (swt) has made it haram or why the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)forbid some things. Most of the time it is pretty clear as to why something is haram..To tell you the truth if you were to go page to page in the Quran and write down all the things that Allah has said is Haram, there really is not so much that are haram and those things that are mentioned is very easy to understand why without any questions.and if you were to look at the ahadeeth, hadith to hadith you really would not find so much that is forbidden. The religion of Islam is very simple and very easy to stay away from those things that are forbidden and are haram. I hope this has help you somewhat.
