Assalamou aleikoum wa Rahmatoullah wa barakatou,
Inshallah, this will help, dear sis :

[marq=left:b55db68c56]Women Dying Their Hair Black

[font=Times New Roman:b55db68c56]Question:

Is it permissible for a woman to dye the hair upon her head with black dye?

Answer:

It is not permissible for a woman or other than her to colour their hair with black dye, because of the statement of the Messenger sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam:

غيروا هذا الشيب، واجتنبوا السواد

”Change this colour, and stay away from the black (colour).” [1]

As for changing (the hair colour) with other than black, then no problem, or (changing it) with henna or mixed al-Katam, [2] so there is no problem with this if the colour changes to other than black, or between black and red.

Assalamou aleikoum wa Rahmatoullah wa barakatou,

[marq=left:409278f545]Question #6455: It is not permissible for a woman to dye her hair black

[font=Times New Roman:409278f545][b]Question :

    I know that it is permissible for a woman to use henna to color her hair, but i am wondering if it is okay to use bleach or other hair coloring on womens hair.

Answer :

    Praise be to Allaah.

    Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen was asked about that and he said:

    If the hair is dyed black, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade that when he commanded a man to change his white hair, but to avoid black. He said: “Change this white hair but avoid black.” (See Saheeh Muslim, 5476). A stern warning has also been narrated to the one who does that, namely the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “There will be people at the end of time who will dye their hair black like the crops of birds; they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4212; al-Nasaa’i, 8/138; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 8153). This indicates that it is forbidden to change the hair with black dye. With regard to changing it with different colours of dye, the basic principle is that it is permissible, unless it is done in the manner of kaafir women or immoral women, in which case it is forbidden for that reason, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4031; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 5/109).

[marq=left:229d5e64d4] Question #3046: Body piercing

[font=Times New Roman:229d5e64d4]Question :

    What is the ruling on piercing the skin around the navel (belly-button) and inserting a metal ring?

Answer :

    Praise be to Allaah.

    We put this question to Shaykh ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Jibreen (may Allaah preserve him), who answered as follows:

    This is self-inflicted torture. This is not a place where adornments are usually worn, and there is no benefit in this practice. It comes under the heading of changing the creation of Allaah. And Allaah knows best.

Assalamou aleikoum wa Rahmatoullah wa Barakatou,

[marq=left:5efcabfca5]     Question #8409: Piercing the nose and eyebrows

[font=Times New Roman:5efcabfca5][size=18]Question :

    Is it permissible for a Muslim teenager who wears hijab to pierce her nose or eyebrow?

Answer :

    Praise be to Allaah.

    It is better not to do this, because it serves no purpose and causes pain and mutilation to the nose, and more son in the case of the eyebrow, by making holes in them. With regard to piercing the earlobes in order to wear earrings, this was the custom of women at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), so it is better to limit ourselves to that.

Could you ask your mom her sources of saying that dying hair is haram? you can see clearly by the fatwas that dying it black is haram, but any other color is permissible. After all, the women in the time of the Prophet, Sallalahu aleihi wa salam, used to dye their hair red or brown with henna or blonde with Saffron... so.............
there might a difference of opinion that I am not aware of, so, I would be grateful if you can give me this info (on which basis or school of thought your mom is saying it is haram)  and I can do more research on the subject.
take care.
