Hi all!! As of last night I declared my Shahada and became a revert to Islam. :!: (It took 3 years to come tho this decision) I'm so excited. Oh, pardon my manners  I should introduce myself. My name is Betsy, I'm 42 soon to be 43, and I work in a busy hospital 3 12 hr. night shifts (7p-7a) a week. I've been married 17 years to a wonderful man whose not a muslim, but supports me in my endevours, we have a son whose now a teenager. My big problem is now what?I don't know how to say the prayers, I have no resources around me no mosque, no other muslims, no books I don't even have a copy of the Quaran! Money right now is very tight due to my husband getting laid off in November. (He's about to start a new job soon) So right now money is going to basics like food and other nescessities of life. I don't know what to do, my library has 3 books on Islam and those aren't very helpful. Does anyone out there have any books hanging around that I could borrow? If postage is an issue I could probably pay for that. I can be reached by email b-lansing@excite.com or by PM. I look forward to many interesting discussions on this board hopefully I won't drive you all crazy with all the questions I'll probably ask. Thanks for listening, Betsy

Assalamu Alaikum
WOW!!! MashaAllah, what wonderfully exciting news...
Welcome to the forum and also welcome to Islam!!
Firstly this is the right place to start  There are many who have been guided to Islam who are originally from other faiths (or not as the case may be). Me included!!
There is a great flash animation with actions and wording for the prayers here  http://english.islamway.com/sindex.php?section=prayer
You can download a copy of the Noble Qu'ran with English translation, to keep on your desktop, here  http://www.sistersinislam.net/noblequran.exe
Here is a link to another post on this site about how to pray until you know the correct actions, words etc... http://sisters.islamway.com/phpBB2/viewtop...opic.php?t=1352
InshaAllah (God willing) someone will be able to help you with Books, where is it you live? I am not familiar with NH :?
There is a sister on this site, Sister Kamillah, who is teaching Islam through email I am sure she will contact you!! MashaAllah she will help you on your way to learning
Any questions, anything at all, please understand we are approachable and we have all been in the same position and had the same questions as you probably have
Hope to hear from you soon.
Take care

Assalaam alaikum,
Congratulations Betsy and welcome to our sisterhood.
We don't mind your questions, ask away.
There are some websites that have the Qur'an online that you can read until you get your own copy, insha' Allah.
