Assalamu Alkyum,

Is it okay for the husband to take the first wife to Hajj and leave the new bride behind for more than 50 days?  Please advise both wives of their rights.   Thank you.

asalamu alaikum,

Hajj is not for 50 days and it does not take that long to make hajj.

You may want to ask a scholar about this. I do not think that hajj would have to be made at the same time by both wives, just as long as he took the other wife at some point. They would not both have to go to hajj at the same time.  He could choose which one to go this time and then which one to take the next time, he goes to hajj.

The Prophet use to draw lots on which wife would ride next to him and this method was used for which wives would go with him.(not for hajj but for travel).

To be fair and just would be to take the second wife for hajj sometime in her life. And maybe he plans Insha-Allah to do this the next time.

Salaam,

Yes, Hajj is not a 50-day event, the husband and first wife will be away that long, and visiting relatives as well.  The second wife, the new bride of 4 months will be left ALONE at her home.

Assalamu alaikum,

This is something that has to be asked from a sheikh. Does the second wife agree to it? If she doesn't agree, he might have to stay 50 days at her house afterwards.
