Salaam Aliekum Sister Amani,

InshaAllah your doctors will eventually adjust your insulin so that your sugars are stable.
 Have they suggested to you a strict diet?  Just curious as perhaps you are eating something that you are not aware is a no-no?

Anyway, I pray that you are able to get things under control, InshaAllah, Ameen.

Nivea

Salaam Aliekum Dear Sister Amani,

I have been doing a bit of research for you as I would love to help you in any way that I can.  InshaAllah.

I asked around and was told by a person living here who also suffers with diabetes, to eat onion and garlic.   As I am a bit skeptical, and want to be sure that I am giving you good advices, InshaAllah, I've looked up this information and thought it would be worth passing onto you to research for yourself, InshaAllah.

Here is one page I've found thus far:

Salaam Aliekum Sis,

 I forgot to mention two other foods that were suggested to me.  One being GREEN TEA <~~click the link for further information.

And another one was Turnip.  Although I will have to do a little bit more research on the turnip delio.

InshaAllah some of this helps.

Hang in there Sister......You are in my Duaa, InshaAllah.

Love,
Nivea

Assalam alaykum

That's wonderful news, sister Amani! biggrin.gif   Insha Allah, it will get even better in the near future.

Sister Nivea, turnips have a glycemic index of 70 and people who have diabete aren't supposed to eat food that is above 50 of glycemic index.  So theorically, turnips are not a good choice.  As for green tea, allahu alam; I know for a fact that it lowers blood pressure and is good for preventing certain types of cancer.

Salaam Aliekum Sister Lea, Shukran for clearing up the turnip issue.  I would not want to give any wrong advices here (InshaAllah) and did not have time yesterday to research that one.  So Thank You So Much biggrin.gif
