Assalam Alaikum.
My name is Ayesha, and i am a new revert to this beautiful religion - islam. I love to read about islam , but i have trouble learning the prayers. My whole family is christian, and they do not accept me as a muslim. But i still have faith and try my best to be the best muslim i can be - although it is very hard. Epecially with the news always being against Islam.
I would very much appriciate any ones help for learning how to pray. I know the al-fatiha but that is all so far. It is hard for me also because i dont know any other muslims.. so i do everything my self.
So please any one, if you can help. please contact me.
thanks you.
May Allahs blessings be upon you all.

Assalamu'alaykum
And WELCOME to the forum. just ask away - that's why we're here and inshAllah we can help you...
Have a look at this post http://sisters.islamway.com/modules.php?na...ighlight=prayer
you'll find questions about prayer, and on page 2 or 3 there are "instructions" and tips. InshAllah you can use it.
Once again, Welcome

Assalamu alaikum,
Ahlan wa sahlan(welcome) sis New_Muslim to the board and to the family! It's always nice to meet a new sister in Islam.
I come from a complete and totally Chirstian family as well so if you ever need help with anything don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you want and inshallah i will be able to help you out. We have sooo many sisters here who come from Christian families that do not approve of Islam or that are intolerant of our practices, so inshallah we will be able to help you through any struggles that you may encounter.
As for learning salah, i think that the flash that they have here on the site is very useful. I think another sister has already posted the link for you. If you know Surah Al-Fatihah then you are well on your way sis. What do you feel is the hardest part of salah? i ask so that inshallah i might be able to help you and make it easier for you.
hope to hear from you soon sis. fi aman Allah. 8)

I am a new muslim as well. I found the following CD very helpful. Its called "lets pray" by Yusuf Islam. It was about 20.00. It comes with a workbook and a tape that goes over step by step each prayer relating to the prayer times. You can listen to it and pray whilst you listen until you can learn the words. It tells you EXACTLY what to do.
I bought it from www.astrolobe.com - under "basic islam" -
Trust me, I will keep this to teach my children and other muslim friends who have trouble learning to pray.
good luck

Salaam alaikum sister!
Alhumdulillah! Congratulations on your reversion. Islam truly is a beautiful religion. Though I do not consider it to be a religion. That term brings Islam down to a definition. Islam to me is as part of my life as the blood running through my veins, it is one and the same....Allahu Akbar.
Yes another sister has already recommended the learn to pray flash software on islamway.com. I used that to learn the basics. But sister nothing beats learning first hand in real life from another sister, or going to pray with other sisters at the masjid. There you will get a feel for the true beauty in salah and to help you see it is not just a strict, rigid ritual.
I pray Allah (swt) will continue to guide you through your journey along the straight path and to help you understand the true beauty in salah....
