Answered by Sheikh Sulaymân b. `Abd Allah al-Mâjid, presiding judge at the Ahsâ’ Supreme Court:
It is permissible to add, remove, or amend the conditions of the marriage contract by the mutual and willing agreement of both parties both before and after the marriage is contracted.
These conditions become binding and effective in the marriage contract if the condition is explicitly stated therein to the agreement of both parties. For example, one condition might be that the couple remains in the country of the woman’s family and that if this condition is violated, the marriage will be annulled.
The conditions that are explicitly stated in the marriage contract are categorically effective.
And Allah knows best.
