Assalamu alaikum sisters
Okay.. the other day I  went to the mall with my husband.. well we got a smoothie from the smoothie place.. i cant remember the name of the place.. ill try to find out.. but it offered to mix in a multivitamin into the smoothie or shake or an energy booster or a pill for immunity.  Wellllll  my husband asked about it and she said she could mix the multivitamin into my shake or i could just take it... I didnt want to cause i cant swallow pills and i didnt want it to affect the taste of my smoothie.. welllllllllll  my husband was like that he would take it.. so the lady got it.. and then right when she handed it to my husband she got this look on her face like she just remembered something.. and then she said  'yall eat like kosher right?'  and my husband was like.. yea..  and she said that she only ate kosher and she said she couldnt take those pills because they werent!!
Have any of yall heard anything like or about that?

Assalaamu alaikum,

It's possible that those pills have gelatin in them.  I don't know the Jewish Kosher dietary laws.  But, I know that we should not eat gelatin unless it says that it is beef gelatin or says halal on the package.  I found that most multi-vitamins contain gelatin, so you have to read every label when you are buying over-the-counter pills.  As for prescriptions, I am not sure if there's a way to tell if there's gelatin.  I guess you would just have to ask the pharmacist.
