need directions for rice

Assalamu alaikum

i need to know how to make rice for 2, with tomato sauce, sazon, and frozen sofrito

and after the beans are done, do i put them in while the rice is still boiling, or after its done?

please if any of you sisters know it would be greatly appreciated !!!



and if i put adobo in while its boiling, about how much? (since i cant taste it)

yes, but somethings wrong with mine  sad.gif  :oops:   maybe too much tomato sauce, and the rice never cooks right, and never dries right.

salam alkoium sister.. sometimes i can get rice jsut right mashallah.. but most of the time it is so wet... :roll:  maybe u used to much sauce? love lena

My grandmother learned me to get the rice dry should Itake a towel over the saucepan opening and then put the saucepan lid on it.The towel take the damp.When the rice is finish let it stand and rest with the towel for 5 -10 minutes.Then I get the rice dry.

How much tomato sauce do you put in?Do you put water in it?When I make spanish rice I put the tomato sauce first then the sofrito,and sazon.Then I put the beans in,then the rice.I let it sit for a few minutes then I put about a cupof water then let it sit.

i was doing letting the rice sit in salt water, then boiling it in water thats half an inch above it and then adding half a small can of tomato sauce, half a pack of sazon, 2 tablespoons of sofrito.  this is how my mother in law said to do it.   but its just not coming right

salam alkoium sister this is the eaiset precipe i could find.. inshallah it will work 4 ya...


Ingredients:
16 ounces salsa
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 cup instant rice -- uncooked
1 tablespoon margarine

Directions:

Combine salsa and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in rice and butter. Cover pan and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.

salam alkoium sister here is one with turkey... i guess u can also use beef? love lena




Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound ground turkey
1 onion -- chopped
1 green bell pepper -- chopped
2 cups chicken stock
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup long-grain white rice -- uncooked
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper -- optional
black pepper -- to taste

Directions:

In a skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add ground turkey, onion and green pepper and cook until turkey is browned and vegetables are tender. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
