As Salaam Alaykum,

I have a question.  Someone (I cannot remember who or when) told me that it is haram to hang pictures or images of critters (animals, and such) on the walls or in art or pictures or toys.  Is this true? If so to what extent?  Does that mean that fabric or sewing that is in the shape of certain things such as bugs, or butterflies, or birds or trees, or landscapes or anything in nature for that matter should not be done?

I am not sure I understand the basis for this or the reason.  Someone explain it to me.

Amani

Assalamu alaikom

Sister, there are lots of rulings on this in the Islamic Ruling section.

I'll keep this topic here for now unless you'd like a specific ruling, then I can move it Islamic Rulings smile.gif

As Salaam Alaykum,

Thank you that helped.  I should have thought to do a search, silly me.

Amani
