Salaam aleikoum,   I've always wanted to leave Holland, but lately the feeling is getting stronger. Today Dutch parliament voted against ritual slaughtering (Jewish/Muslim) and I'm just sick of this country. I've been blessed by living here and got good education etc, but I'm not happy here. There is this feeling inside me which says I have to leave. Today sooner than tomorrow. My family doesn't have the means to do so as education gets paid for here and in another country its more expensive etc. but please pray for us. I've fallen in love with the idea of hijrah..

Waalaykum assalaam.

Wow. They REALLY don't want religious people over there, huh? I wish that they would just come right out and say "Non-secular people need not stick around or move here" and be done with it. Gosh!

Anyhow, I'll try to remember you and the rest of the Muslims there in my dua.
May Allah grant you what's best in this situation.Ameen.

Assalam alaikum,

you are not alone sister! I hope we can do hijra as soon as possible inshaAllah... although we absolutely donīt have a cent to do it. I donīt want my children to stay here and have the same problem.

May Allah make it easy for us to make hijra , ameen.

AsSalamu Alaikum,

When a Muslim cannot practic Islam, than it is a obligation to make hijrah out of a land that is preventive and hostle toward muslims. Make it a goal to leave there. The world is a very big place and their are many places you can go where you will be able to practice islam.  To say that a muslim cannot slaughter a animal in the proper islamic way, is preventing muslims from a religious practice.  Think about making hijarah to a place where a muslim is allowed to practice islam.

May Allah protect you and your family from the place you reside and the people that live in that country. Ameen

Assalaamu alaykun.

Didn't France ban the Burqa? Before that didn't they ban wearing hijab in schools? Assuming that this is true and not just propaganda I'm not sure that I'd be moving there unless there were no other place to go!

It is true! Although France has the largest Muslim population in Europe, they have banned wearing Niqaab in public, they are issuing women who are caught wearing it a fine on the spot and/or given 'lessons' on French citizenship 8-)
The headscarf has been banned in schools and I think goverment buildings as well, for a long time.

AsSalamu Alaikum,

France would also be a place to make hijarah from, not allowing a muslimah to practice her religion and oppression from the government in not allowing her to wear the Hijaab.  Is enough, it is a obligation to leave lands that are hostile towards muslim by not allowing to practice islam.

Salam,

Ohhh yea.. I forgot dry.gif Well, that makes France something like Turkey then, right? Or is Turkey okay with hijabs now? Man, I've been so behind the news lately sleep.gif But at least there is no ban on halal slaughtering in France ?

I think that's the point: They want Muslims to leave their lands.. So they create all these "laws" to frustrate the Muslims in hope that they will leave the country (whichever country that is). Part of the NWO coalition plan, maybe ?

wa alaikoum assalam,

If you can't practice Islam and you can't fight for your rights, then you should leave - unless you are ready to suffer the consequences (imprisonment, fines, etc.) Especially if you consider Holland your homeland, not a country you use to take advantage of, such as free education. If I was a Dutch non-Muslim, I'd hate it if the only thing connecting the Muslims to the land was the services.

If Holland is really where "home" is, then organize yourself and make your voices heard. And don't worry - you are in the right and they are in the wrong. The world will soon see for what their laws really are - hateful and discriminatory.

If you are going to stay and fight, you have to imagine a future where Dutch Muslims feel completely Dutch and completely Muslim. Don't worry too much about the Dutch culture today- cultures change, especially if they have traditions that are not sustainable in the long term (ex low fertility rates, aging populations, etc). And fight with that future in mind.

If Holland is home, you won't runaway because it is easier somewhere else.  The Muslims had to leave Mecca because the Quraish had become really hostile, but they came back, and look at the society there today. The culture changed, and Muslims are still there.

This is my opinion and my opinion only. I can't see how one can feel completely Dutch/British/Belgian/American/... And feel completely Muslim. For me, this is just not possible. yes, I am referred sometimes as the "Belgian" sister not because I feel Belgian but because I come from there just like Shaykh al-Albanee was known by his country of origin.

However, the Muslims can contribute positively to the society and not just "use the system". Personally, if I was to live there and was a national, I would use the European law to fight that decision. wa Allahu a'lam.

And I completely understand that feeling. May Allah opens his doors to you.

Assalamoa alikum,

I can totally relate to the feeling.  We are on a mini hijrah tour at the moment, we need to stay in the UK because of medical issues with my girls, but I can say sadly that the predominantly muslim areas are the dirtiest, roughest areas imaginable.  It is like a third world country with litter literally EVERYWHERE!  It is so nice to see muslims everywhere, but I don'tknow if I can handle the rubbish that comes with them :-(

Wa alaikoum assalam,

I can totally relate to the rubbish comment. In western countries, the population in general cares significantly more about cleanliness, and they have programs to clean up the mess left by people.

I feel I can practice my religion with a greater freedom here in the West than in my parent's country of origin (which is Muslim). Over here, women can actively participate in the mosque, something my cousins don't get to do.  In general, there is less corruption here than in these Muslim-majority countries (and I am talking about bribery, lack of professionalism...).

The whole of the Earth belongs to Allah. No one can say you don't belong. If you feel the Dutch are your people, then won't you stay and help them (ie contribute to society)? Isn't it your land too?

When Prophet Musa AS ran away from Egypt and went to Madyan, what was the first thing that he did? He saw two ladies having trouble at the water well, and he decided to help them. Imagine: He is a fugitive who has just arrived to a new land, he is tired, and the first thing he does - serve the people. He didn't say: OK, let me see what I can get from this country, see how they can help me, get back on my own two feet, THEN decide whether I should help them.

If you do decide to immigrate somewhere else, maybe a Muslim country, you need to keep the spirit of giving and serving.

I wonder what would have happened, if the people who wanted to do business in Indonesia, were told "Bad you, you're in a non-Muslim land, go back and make hijrah" how Islam would have grown? It's our duty to spread this message, and live this message. I imagine the prophets - their people were not-Muslim, but it was their duty to tell them the message in the best manner. Arabs were NOT Muslim, but today they are.

Today, a person from Malaysia is just as Muslim as one from Iraq - they are fully Malay/Iraqi/Afghani... and fully Muslim. I imagine the same for Muslims in the West.

If they are so hostile, then I understand wanting to leave. But I also understand one who stays fighting for change.
